Nature of Work/Examples of Work Performed
What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate with the public and the development community to provide guidance and expert advice.
- Review and evaluate land use proposals, ensuring conformance with zoning, subdivision regulations, and design standards.
- Prepare professional reports and make impactful recommendations to elected and appointed officials.
Desirable Knowledge, Abilities & Skills/Desirable Training & Experience
What You’ll Bring:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills paired with the ability to connect with diverse individuals.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a passion for public service.
- Planning experience or a master’s degree in city, regional, or urban planning (or a related field) is highly desired.
Minimum Qualifications/Necessary Special Requirements
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in planning or in one of the related social or engineering sciences; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.
