APA Missouri Chapter Awards

Awards

Each year, APA Missouri seeks applications from around the state that exemplify great planning. Members of the awards committee are charged with reviewing, selecting, and helping to outstanding overall plans, best practices, and ongoing implementation efforts from throughout Missouri at the annual state-wide conference.  

The awards fall into the following categories: 

Outstanding Plan: A plan that advances the science and art of planning.

Outstanding Implementation: Recognizing an effort that demonstrates a significant achievement in accomplishing positive changes as a result of planning. This award emphasizes long-term, measurable results.

Outstanding Public Outreach, Program, Project, Tool, Community Initiative: A specific planning tool, practice, program, project, community initiative or public outreach. This category emphasizes results and demonstrates how innovative and state-of-the art planning methods and practices help to create communities of lasting value.

Outstanding Student Project: A student or group of students in a Missouri planning program for an outstanding paper or class project that demonstrates the contribution of planning to contemporary issues; best applies the planning process; or applied planning research. The project is primarily the work of the student(s), with limited faculty member guidance.
