Mentorship Program

APA St. Louis Metro Section is pleased to announce the continuation of the planning mentorship program that was first introduced in 2025! The program is available to planning professionals throughout the greater St. Louis region! We are honored to have the following professionals as this year's mentors, serving as a resource in giving career guidance to planners at any stage in their careers:

  • Andrea Riganti, AICP (Manchester Zoning and Economic Development Director)
  • Carlos Trejo, AICP (Olivette Planning and Community Development Director)
  • Jason Jaggi, AICP (Creve Coeur Director of Community Development)
  • Mara Perry, AICP (Great Rivers Greenway Senior Project Manager for Planning)

Whether you are new to the field, wanting to get input about new technical planning skills (e.g. GIS, transportation modeling, or public engagement techniques), or seeking advice on the next steps in your planning career, these 4 professionals from diverse planning backgrounds are an ideal place to start!

To sign up for this unique program, please complete this brief questionnaire. One of the SLMS-APA co-chairs for the Education and Credentialing subcommittee will review the responses, connect you with a mentor, and coordinate with you both on a date for an informal "coffee chat" meeting with your mentor! After this meeting, each mentor/mentee can agree to continue to meet individually as their schedule allows.

In addition, the Education and Credentialing subcommittee also holds periodic "career insight meetings" on a variety of topics. Keep an eye on the monthly SLMS newsletter to find out when the next of these meetings is scheduled to take place and the topic we plan to cover. All are welcome!

Those seeking the confidential advice of a planner mentor can sign up at any time!
