Port KC aims to grow the local economy through commerce, trade, and development. The Berkley Riverfront Development is the most dynamic, ready for development opportunity in Kansas City, Missouri. The readiness of the site is the culmination of 30 years of investment and environmental abatement. The final 55-acre site is part of a large scale master plan set forth by Port KC to create a world class urban village that will encompass offices, residential and retail space, and amenities.

This exciting walking tour will explore Port KC’s recent redevelopment initiatives for the Berkley Riverfront along the Missouri River. Tour highlights will include the largest single phase multi-family project in Kansas City, one of the first private dog parks in the nation, and a planned extension of the streetcar. Join us for a fun afternoon to learn how the Port Authority supports development in the Kansas City region.

Attendees at this program will:

(1) Learn about Port KC’s approach to development and partnerships with public and private stakeholders;

(2) Explore several innovative development projects that were recently completed along the riverfront via a walking tour;

(3) Understand planning, financial, and environmental strategies that were vital to accomplishing successful redevelopment; and

(4) Discuss future steps for Port KC and its partners to continue connecting the riverfront to achieve the master plan vision.
