APA Missouri needs you! Missouri participates in the APA consolidated election system, so interested candidates must submit all required documentation no later than June 2nd. We will be looking for members to serve for the 2021-2022 Chapter board year. Interested persons may contact MeganClark@MissouriState.edu for more information and to submit the completed form. Nominations will then be reviewed by the Chapter nominating committee prior to submittal to APA National. Positions on the State Board as well as the St. Louis and OMS Sections are up for election.

Positions up for election this year include:

Chapter Board- 2-year terms:

Missouri Chapter President-Elect (automatically becomes President after 2-years, then Past-President for 2-years)

  • Actively assist the President in the stimulation, guidance and coordination of committee activities
  • Act as President in the absence or incapacity of the President
  • Provide support to and serve as board liaison to the Chapter’s Annual Conference Committee
  • Act as the Chair of a Chapter Legislative Committee
  • Oversee an audit of Chapter finances, as needed
  • Oversee the onboarding of the Student Representative

Missouri Chapter Secretary  

  • Maintain or oversee maintenance of the official roster of Chapter memberships, reflecting the latest official Chapter Membership Roster and any Chapter Affiliates;
  • Maintain or oversee maintenance of the Chapter pages of the Chapter website.
  • Notify the appropriate members of meetings of the Chapter Board of Directors and the Chapter, or appointment to committees;
  • Keep minutes of the business portions of Chapter meetings and of meetings of the Chapter Board of Directors and prepare a digest of such minutes for publication in the Chapter newsletter or website;
  • Transmit to the Executive Director of the Association the following information:
    • At least one copy of each publication of the Chapter;
    • Proposed bylaws or amendments as required by the bylaws of the Association;
  • Perform other duties required by these Bylaws or customary to the office.

Missouri Chapter Treasurer

  • Receive funds and disburse funds in accordance with the budget and as authorized or approved by the Chapter Board of Directors;
  • Collect and receive Chapter dues from Affiliate members;
  • Maintain and manage accounts which shall be open to the inspection of the officers and Chapter Board of Directors and which shall be submitted for an annual audit by the Audit Committee;
  • Prepare for each meeting of the membership and of the Chapter Board a financial report to include a current balance sheet and an income statement reflecting the preceding 12 months of Chapter operations;
  • File Form 990 with the IRS annually when due; and
  • Perform other duties as are customary to the office.

Outstate Missouri North

  • Represent members of APA Missouri not located in an established section and north of the Missouri River

Outstate Missouri South

  • Represent members of APA Missouri not located in an established section and south of the Missouri River

 St. Louis Section- 1-year terms

Section Bylaws call for 8 members to represent Illinois and 8 to represent Missouri within the St. Louis region. For the ballot, the voter may choose up to 8 names to fill the positions.

 Ozark Mountain Section- 2-year terms

Ozark Mountain Section President

  • Coordinate annual events with the Missouri State Chapter.
  • Call the meetings of the Section and Executive Committee.
  • Preside at Section and Executive Committee meetings.
  • Prepare a written Annual Report and Financial Statement of Section activities for the preceding year to be presented at the Annual Meeting.
  • Attend the State Conference of the Missouri Chapter or appoint someone to attend.
  • Represent the Section on the APA Missouri Chapter Board of Directors.
  • Perform such other duties as are customary to the office.

Ozark Mountain Section Vice-President

  • Act in the absence or incapacity of the President.
  • Discharge such duties and authorities delegated to him or her by the President as are necessary to carry on the business of the Section.
  • Perform such other duties as are customary to the office.

Ozark Mountain Section Treasurer

  • Receive all membership dues and other moneys in the name of the Section.
  • Disburse funds in accordance with the budget.
  • Keep accounts which shall at all times be open for the inspection of the officers.
  • Assist the President in preparing the Annual Report and Financial Statement of the Section.
  • Perform such other duties as are customary to the office.

Ozark Mountain Section Secretary

  • Keep minutes of the meetings.
  • Maintain the Section bylaws and annual reports, distribute publications to Section members, and ensure the Missouri Chapter Secretary receives a copy of necessary information.
  • Maintain a current roster of Section membership.
  • Perform such duties as are customary to the office.

Ozark Mountain Section Member at-large

  • Serve on the Executive Committee of the Section
  • Help coordinate Section events and activities
